I’ve been thinking, I've hardly posted anything other than designer’s products and layouts using them, on my blog. Its not that i don't have anything else to say, its just that it never occurred to me. !! I know how silly that sounds… and I'm seriously thinking about changing that. And thinking on that note, let me share one or two layouts i was working on (not the CT ones…). So here is what i’ve been doing in the past weeks…. And I'd really appreciate all your comments on them.
For the first one, i used the "Page in a Pinch 24" template from Red Leaf DigiScrapping's . And it was the perfect one to scrap these pictures. These pictures were taken over a period of days(10 to be exact) during the ‘Brahma Utsavam’ Celebration in our temple in South India. Learn more about this festival here.

Layout Journaling :
Popular stories trace the origin of 'Brahma Utsavam' celebration, to Brahma, the creator God, who first conducted this festival to Sri Balaji at Tirupati. Brahma worshiped Sri Balaji on the banks of the holy Pushkarini in Tirupati as a way to give thanks Hence, this utsavam bears his name, as "Brahma's Utsavam." The BrahmaUtsavam is performed over a nine-day period. During the nine days of the festival, the religious activities include daily 'homas' and processions for the utsava murti on different 'vahanas', which are the chariots, that can be seen in the Temple. Every evening, the utsava ‘vigrahas’ are decorated with different 'alankarams'. And the concluding day is the 'Janma Nakshatra' (birth star) of Sri Balaji, which is celebrated in a very grand way.
And my second layout is inspired from Simply Yin’s ‘Simple Days’ layout.

[ You must know, that i don't use templates that often, most of the time i just use them as inspirational sketches or starting points for my layouts. And though they might look alike, technically, i’ve not used the actual template blocks. So, unless i mention that ‘templates are by so-so’ , i’ve not used the actual template blocks. In that case i just say ‘Inspired from so and so’s design. ]
And Yin’s designs are amazing starting points. And if you haven’t heard of Yin, then you really must be missing on something. She is this amazing scrapper who specializes on 2 page layouts. She posts them on her blog and also sells those templates too. She’s got some very unique and interesting designs for 2 pagers. And I'm a big time fan. Why dont you drop by her blog and see for yourself.
Oh well, that's all for now.Hope i’ve inspired some of you out there to give templates and 2 pagers a chance. And from now on, I'll post such layouts and their stories, and in return, I’d love to hear from you. So drop a comment or two.
And for patiently going through this post and all my other nonsenses, here is a FREEBIE for you. Its a Quickpage using Digi-Designs by Nicole’s ‘Take a Dip’ kit. And you can still get this kit for FREE, this week only,so hurry !!
See you all later. bye
